How does the hire work?

Hiring period is for 8 weeks at $89 – we recommend ensuring your TENS arrives at/or before 36 weeks so pre-planning is best. Once your 8 weeks is completed return your machine with your easy prepaid return label for a hassle free experience.

What is it?

TENS, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, is an amazing pain management option for your labour. You can use it as a form of pain relief, a distraction method and something to keep you comfortable. It is all your decision and you have complete control of it. The NeuroTrac obstetric TENS is specifically designed for use during labour, and is safe for you and baby. It provides an unmedicated relief of pain and is an amazing effective pain relief you can use at home. The more comfortable and calm you are during the early stages of labour, the transition into the active second stage will be more calm, leading to less interventions and making it a must-have for your birth.

How does it help with pain?

The TENS machine distracts your mind, builds endorphins (which are our body’s natural pain relievers) and engulfs your central nervous system. This blocks our pain signals, and limits your ability to send pain signals to your spinal cord and brain. Our body can only focus on one pain at a time, and limited information at one time, and the TENS priorities nerve signals over pain signals – therefore you feel less pain. This comes from four electrodes placed on your back, providing a pulsing and tingling style feeling.
